Pastor Edmund Smith is known as Real Love Ministry (RLM) Pastor Melaka, Malaysia. RLM is a church and ministry that reaches out to people especially with sexually and relatoinally brokeness issue. Ps. Edmund was born and growing up in Malaysia in the state of Malaka, he have marriage in 1996, when he was 26 years old, now he and his wife, Ps. Amanda work fulltime at RLM.

Ps. Edmund admin that he was living on homosexual lifestyle for a long time, “ in facts I knew that I was a transgender since I was 4 years old and my lifelong dream was to become a woman, and I had a plan that when I am 21 I would go for a sex change, become a beautiful woman, find a man would love me and live happy ever after,” he say. Ps. Edmund also explain that he was having transition from transgender into gay and that not the same thing when he was 18 years old, “in 1994 I broke up with my last boyfriend, his name is Benjamin and Benjamin happen to be man that I loved most, I give my life, my time, my all to him, but he cheated on me with somebody else, so I broke up with Benjamin.”

He was 24 when he broke up and then he broke up with all LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseks and Transgender) lifestyle and community. Ps. Edmund also tell us that he was “Christian/Chatolic” because he born in that kinda family but he never serious and never born again, “I never had personal relationship with God, but.. as I say earlier, I was broke up with Benjamin and whole LGBT lifestyle and community, so that give me a lot availability of time, my life became different,” he say.

 Walk away from LGBT community who was taking up his life, make Ps. Edmund have extra time and peace, “It was chalingging to walk away from community that I knew well, I had to give up friendship, I have to give up activity, I have to give up a lot of things, but it was really-really good,” he say. Ps. Edmund call it damage community because he was into clubbing, he was living a wild gay lifesyle, “I was very wild, clubbing every weekend, I was singer in the pub, at night I was singer and at day time I was special education teacher.”

 When he stop his night career he can be more focus on his career as special education teacher, its mean he work for down syndrom people, people who is deaf. Then, Ps. Edmund was work at Salvation Army because of his avability as teacher but in fact he is not born again yet in that time. He began more interesting in Christianity because of this community, “that was good, that was big replacement, I went for this community to that community, so.. not because I love Jesus that time, of course today I am so in love with Jesus,” he explain.  

Then, he began to know more about Jesus and falling in love with Jesus, “yes it was amazing, so.. I falling in love with Jesus, I was 25 years old till now I am 46 years old. I really believe that would’nt happen if I did not walk away from LGBT community,” he say. After that, he was wanting to become pastor, and the salvation army sent Ps. Edmund to Singapore with his wife to the bible school. Thats the reason why Ps. Edmund live on Singapore for 7 years.

The Real Love Ministry was staring in 1999 at Singapore, Ps. Edmund was living there about 1998, with her wife, Ps. Amanda. That time is when them finished 3 years at Choise Ministry which is from Exodus International from the US. On 1999, when Ps. Edmund have decide to serve God fulltime, God spoke to him to be on LGBT community.

 Ps. Edmund explain that RLM is very specific, it work closely with LGBT individuals, to become an ex-LGBT, “ex-LGBT means people who wants to walk away from LBGT lifestyle, that what it means, so they want to choose Godly lifestyle, they want to choose biblical lifesytle, RLM is for them. Our calling is for people who choose to be change, who serious about change, we don’t force people to be change, people come to us because they on free will want to change. So, we not anti-LGBT, we are ex-LGBT.”

 RLM desire is to introduce Jesus Christ to the LGBT community for them to see the plan of Jesus Christ, truly Jesus have plan to all of us. RLM Ministry as known as RLM management director by Ps. Edmund, and the church as known as RLM fellowship lead by Ps. Amanda as Senior Pastor. The RLM office is placed at Malaka, Malaysia but Ps. Edmund usualy travel to all over malaysia and other country, he work with churches around the world.

Ps. Edmund have two major program which is Victory Talk (V-Talk) and Victory Meeting (V-Meet). V-Talk is about introducing to RLM ministry it presenting one time seminar and V-Meet is one year program, he commit himself to the church, he do once a month training for ex-LGBT mostly at Malaysia and Singapore. The RLM is very biblical based, there’s one primary bible verse that Ps. Edmund personal loved and he use it much in the ministry is Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and His righteosness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

For all LGBT people Ps Edmund say this with tearing in his eyes, “God loves you, God love you so much, no one will ever loves you can love you the way God loves you. God love is agape, perfect and unconditional, crazy-amazing love. I was looking for love on my relationship with my parents, especially my Father. I found that love when I was 25 years old, I open up to Him, He is the best man ever, best lover, perfect. He doesn’t just loves you, God has power to change you, to bring you to become a person the man or the woman. God created us before we enter into our mother womb, our parents are imperfect, but God is perfect. We create perfect by God but because of our own sins we drifted so far from God will, God have perfect, beautiful plan for us. When we give our life to Jesus, we enter to a journey of perfection, it’s a journey you know.”

Ps. Edmund also say that relationship with God is take everyday, not on Sunday or when you have problem, you will discover nothing that beauty, love, power, passion. Give your life to Jesus and journey with Him everyday, you will become spiritual butterfly, there is spiritual metamorphosis.
